通称美国联邦宪法或美国宪法。它是美国的根本大法，奠定了美国XX制度的法律基础。美国宪法是世界上第一部成文宪法。1787年5月，美国各州(当时为13个)代表在费城召开制宪会议，同年9月15日制宪会议通过《美利坚合众国宪法》。1789年3月4日，该宪法正式生效。后又附加了26条宪法修正案。
Generally known as the Federal Constitution or the constitution of the United States. It is the fundamental law of the United States and lays the legal foundation of the American political system. The American constitution is the first written constitution in the world. In May 1787, representatives of the states of the United States (then 13) held a constitutional convention in Philadelphia. On September 15 of the same year, the constitutional convention adopted the constitution of the United States of America. On March 4, 1789, the constitution came into force. Then 26 constitutional amendments were added.
